Busted: 4 arrested; 1 at large stemming from recent drug investigation (6)

A 44-year-old man remains at large after four individuals were arrested stemming from a recent drug bust, sheriff officials said.

David Eugene Meek fled a residence in the 100 block of County Road 187 upon arrival of deputies who had obtained a search warrant for the location, according to a news release issued by the Cooke County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday afternoon.

During the CCSO’s search last week, investigators seized approximately 3.1 ounces (86 grams) of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $8,600, and one half an ounce (14 grams) of marijuana with an estimated street value of $700, said Cooke County Sheriff Terry Gilbert.

Packaging materials and assorted paraphernalia items were also seized, he said.

The seizure all started with a traffic stop initiated by the K-9 unit Wednesday, Jan. 27 at the intersection of Campbell and McDaniel Streets in Callisburg, Gilbert said.

During the stop, a small amount of marijuana was discovered and the suspect, identified as Robert Isaac Findley, attempted to destroy it, the release stated.

Robert Findley, 41, was arrested on a felony charge of tampering with physical evidence, officials said.

He was later charged with engaging in organized criminal activity-manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 more than four grams less than 200 grams.

Robert Findley’s bond totals $120,000, sheriff officials said.

Upon his placement into the Cooke County Jail, Robert Findley communicated with his wife, Lisa Rae Findley, and began giving her instructions to destroy additional evidence, according to CCSO.

The news release states the direction to his wife was due to “fearing that deputies were about to seek a search warrant for his residence located on Boley Street in Callisburg.”

Investigators said this information, as well as “recent intelligence developed from multiple sources” ultimately led Drug Enforcement Unit investigators to seek and execute two search warrants -one at Robert Findley’s residence in Callisburg and one at a residence located in the 100 block of CR 187.

During the search conducted along CR 187, Jessica Robison Findley, 31, and William Alan Findley Jr., 38, were arrested and booked into the Cooke County Jail on a charge of engaging in organized criminal activity-manufacture / delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 more than four grams less than 200 grams with bond set at $100,000 each, the release states.

Lisa Rae Findley, 32, fled the scene along with Meek during the search and seizure, but surrendered to authorities Monday night on a charge of criminal activity-manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 more than four grams less than 200 grams, Gilbert said.

As of Tuesday afternoon, she was awaiting arraignment, he said.

“Both the Findley men are brothers and the women are sister-in-law’s,” Gilbert said. “Meek is not related and just hung out with them.”

Sheriff officials said the investigation is part of an ongoing battle of combating illegal drug sales in Cooke County.

Meek is wanted on a charge of a charge of criminal activity-manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 more than four grams less than 200 grams.

Anyone with information on Meek’s whereabouts is asked to contact the CCSO at 940-665-3471.
