19 charged in drug trafficking operation (2024)

An ongoing three-month-long investigation by the Cooke County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit yielded 19 arrests, according to a news release sent late Monday by Cooke County Sheriff Terry Gilbert.

The release states the individuals arrested are accused of operating in several different organized crime groups involved in drug trafficking, weapon trafficking and trafficking of stolen goods in Cooke, Denton and Grayson counties in Texas and Love County in Oklahoma.

During the course of the investigation, the groups were found to be interconnected through mutual associations of the suspects, according to Gilbert’s release.

Law enforcement said the suspects are accused of selling methamphetamine, psilocybin (mushrooms) and stolen weapons.

One suspect alone was arrested with 263 grams of meth with a street value of $26,300, the release states.

Stolen firearms and household items were recovered from burglaries and thefts in the involved counties, as well.

The following 19 people were arrested and charged:

Michael David Northcutt, 33, was charged with engaging in organized criminal activity – manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1 more than 4 grams less than 200 grams and tampering with physical evidence.

Brittany Gail Banks, 28, was charged with engaging in organized criminal activity – manufacture / delivery of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1 more than 4 grams less than 200 grams.

Devin Michelle Hightower, 32, was charged with engaging in organized criminal activity – manufacture / delivery of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1 more than 4 grams less than 200 grams.

Titishia Lucille Carlile, 34, was charged with manufacture / delivery of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 2 more than 4 grams less than 400 grams, possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 2 more than 1 gram less than 4 grams and multiple failure to appear Class C warrants from Gainesville Police Department.

Jonathan Edward Anderson, 39, was arrested on a DWLI warrant from CCSO and on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Carl Don Kirby, 40, faces charges of no driver’s license and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Mary Lajune Crisp, 35, faces a charge of engaging in organized criminal activity – manufacture / delivery of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1 more than 4 grams less than 200 grams and a parole violation.

Terrius Lamar Purvey, 32, was charged with engaging in organized criminal activity – manufacture / delivery of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1 more than 4 grams less than 200 grams, failure to identify fugitive, criminal trespass – bond enhancement warrants.

Avril Lanette Barron, 39, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance in Penalty

Group 1 more than 4 grams less than 200 grams and tampering with physical evidence.

Chathan Dewey Reynolds, 37, is charged with engaging in organized criminal activity – manufacture / delivery of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1 more than 4 grams less than 200 and cultivation of controlled substance from Love County, Oklahoma.

Damon Cordell Carter, 36, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1 more than 1 gram less than 4 grams, tampering with physical evidence, forgery of government money and resisting search/arrest.

Heather Rosemead May, 33, is facing a charge of engaging in organized criminal activity – manufacture / delivery of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1 more than 4 gram less than 200 grams and a parole violation.

Daniel Renee Garcia, 38, is charged with engaging in organized criminal activity – manufacture / delivery of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1 more than 4 less than 200 grams.

Bryan Allen Jones, 34, was arrested on charges of abandoning / endangering a child and manufacture / delivery of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1 more than 4 grams less than 200 grams.

Kristina Rae Gibson Tate, 28, was charged with abandoning / endangering a child and possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1 less than 1 gram.

Curtis Ryan Mooney, 32, was charged with engaging in organized criminal activity – burglary of a habitation and manufacture / delivery of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1 more than 1 gram less than 4 grams.

Steven Jo Cavitt, 34, faces charges of engaging in organized criminal activity – burglary of a habitation and FTA Class C warrants from GPD.

Tony Curtis Howard Jr., 41, was taken into custody on a charge of engaging in organized criminal activity – theft of a firearm.

Chyanne Dakota Barker, 24, was charged with engaging in organized criminal activity – burglary of a habitation.

Of the 19, law enforcement said the following have organized criminal gang affiliations: Northcutt, Peckerwoods; Anderson, Aryan Circle; Kirby, Crips; Purvey, 52 Hoover Crips; Carter, Latin Kings; Jones, Aryan Circle; and Howard, unidentified Aryan gang.

Gilbert said some of the 19 have posted bail, while others remain in custody.

The CCSO was assisted in the investigation by the Cooke County District Attorney’s Office, Gainesville Police Department, Texas Highway Patrol, Denton County Sheriff’s Office, Sherman Police Department, Texas Department of Family Protective Services, Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, Love County Sheriff’s Office and the Thackerville Police Department, according to the news release.

“The Cooke County Sheriff’s Office is committed to continue this and other investigations in an effort to protect our citizens as well as those in the surrounding area,” the release states.
